This lens is a mixed bag. The hotspot is more noticeable than the score suggests (see below samples) because it's so diffused and stays away from the center. Wide angle AF lenses for Sony are usually atrocious, which makes this one a pleasant surprise. The corner performance is not good and the flaring is downright unpleasant, but the distortion isn't terrible, it's cheap, very small & light and the AF... well, it works. It's fun, great for travel (if you're forgiving on image quality) and uses small filters (49mm is used a lot on small Sony primes). On the original Sony A7 the whole package weighs only 562g (incl. battery, memory card and strap)!
