Hotspot Performance Notes
This lenses IR performance is pretty decent. It's better than its slightly slower f/1.4 brother, which is rather surprising. This 1.2 lens doesn't stop down to f/22, which helps it from dipping down too far, but it's still better across the board than many fast lenses. If you want to use at f/4 or wider then it's really very good. It's not the best performing fast 50mm for IR, that would go to the Konica 57mm f/1.4 so far. If you want a 50mm with good IR performance for greater depth of field (eg. landscapes) then there are a few better options, but this still isn't terrible.
