Zooms are problematic for infrared performance. Even on zoom lenses that other people tell me that are good for infrared I find them mediocre at best. This old Konica lens is considerably better than anything else I have tested, but unfortunately the image quality in the corners is pretty atrocious. The colour IR performance is lackluster and even in the middle of the frame it's often soft and glowy from the channel offset.
